Niobe Kaftan is an ordinary girl who has just been married to a boy who is younger than she is. After regretting it initially, she finds in him a special magical ability to transform mere songs to a full-fledged orchestra for all those who are in contact with him. Just when she realizes that she could indeeed fall in love with him, he is taken away by a twist in Fate.

With the help of her husband’s universiy professor, she then understands that his life was a sacrifice in lieu of hers and that if anything could be done, it had to be done by intervention of the Incarnations themselves. She then meets Thanatos, the Incarnation on Death, by killing herself in a bid to rescue him and is then taken to most of the other Incarnations hoping for some help. They regretfully inform her that they cannot help it at this time but that she now has a promising future.

Taking these words as mere consolation on the death of her beloved, she soon finds out that she is in line for taking up one of the Aspects of Fate itself; as Clotho, the youngest among the three Aspects!

At first, though it remains a boring read, it soon picks up its pace and becomes a page-turner.
